Booking & Speaking Inquiries
Every great run starts with a single step out the door. Send me a message and let's figure out if we're a good fit.
"The Mountain Method isn't a motivational speech. It's a framework built from years of putting one foot in front of the other when everything was falling apart."
Matthew "Shep" Shepard — goshep.runWork With Shep
I've covered over 700 kilometres in a single run. I've represented Canada on a world stage. I have been to the depths of exhaustion and what it taught me is that the moments that change you don't happen at the finish line.
Whether you're planning a corporate event, a fitness conference, a leadership retreat, or a community gathering, The Mountain Method is built to meet your audience where they are and show them what they're capable of.
I don't do generic. I prep for every event. Your audience will hear a talk that's grounded in real terrain, specific moments, and honest lessons that translate directly into their lives. I'm based in Alberta and I travel for the right opportunities.
Who This Is For
Speaking Formats
Keynote
Full keynote format. 20, 45, or 60 minutes. Story-driven. No buzzwords. Built for large audiences and packed with a framework your people will actually carry home.
Workshop
Smaller groups. More interaction. We dig into the framework and put it to work with your specific context. Half-day or full-day available.
Event Hosting
Race hosting, event emceeing, and trail running event direction through Sinister Sports. I know how to keep a crowd fired up.
Partnerships
Long-form brand alignment. I partner with companies whose values line up with what I'm out there doing. Let's talk about what that looks like.

After You Reach Out
I keep this simple on purpose. No layers of management, no gatekeeping. You're talking to me.
Tell me about your event, your audience, and what you're hoping people walk away with. The more detail, the better.
Within 48 hours, you'll hear from me personally. We'll set up a short call to talk through fit, format, and logistics.
If we're a match, I get to work. I customize every talk to your audience. Nothing is copy-paste from the last event.
I show up prepared and ready to give your audience something they'll still be talking about on the drive home.
Before You Reach Out
Yes. I am based in Alberta and I travel for the right opportunities. I've competed in Wales, represented Canada at Big's Backyard in Tennessee, and worked with teams across Canada. Geography isn't a dealbreaker. Just mention your location in the form.
As early as you can. My schedule fills in around race commitments and trail building season. A few months of lead time is ideal, but don't hesitate to ask about late availability. I do my best to make things work.
The Mountain Method is story-driven and built around a practical framework your audience can apply to their own lives. It runs 20, 45, or 60 minutes depending on your event format. I customize references and examples to your group. See the Speaking page for more detail.
I do, with the right setup. In-person events tend to land harder, but virtual presentations are absolutely on the table and still deliver the same core experience. Let me know what format you're working with.
Absolutely. Some of the best conversations I've had have been with groups of 20 or 30 people in a workshop setting. Smaller audiences mean more depth. If you've got something intimate in mind, tell me about it.
I work with brands that align with the endurance, outdoor, and health space. I'm selective because I want any partnership to feel genuine to the people who follow this journey. Use the booking form or reach out directly below and let's talk.
Other Ways to Connect
I'm active on Instagram and Strava sharing what's happening in real time. Follow along for trail reports, race updates, and behind-the-scenes coverage of everything from Kananaskis to the start line of whatever's next. If you prefer email, that works too.
